Men's Basketball bounces back with road win over Baker

BALDWIN CITY – Benedictine Men's Basketball earned the regular-season sweep over Baker University on Wednesday night, taking down the Wildcats on the road 67-62.

Three Ravens scored in double digits as Benedictine bounced back from Saturday's loss to (21) Graceland to earn their 10th win in conference play.

After trading the lead three times and playing through two ties, Baker held the lead for nearly three minutes inside the first 7 minutes of the game. The Ravens outscored the Wildcats 15-2 to erase their deficit and pull ahead by 7 on a 3-pointer from Harrison Kisling with just under 8 minutes remaining in the half.

Benedictine maintained the lead through halftime, leading 27-24, and remained in the lead through the second half.

Jack Vander Woude kicked off a 14-5 start to the half for the Ravens to push their halftime lead to 10 points before the first media timeout of the half.

Baker closed with 3 points near the midpoint of the half only to have Deaglan Sullivan and Aiden Sullivan combined for three straight baskets to push Benedictine back to an 8-point lead. A 3-pointe from Baker with 2:23 left in the game pulled the Wildcats within 2 points, but the Ravens were able to remain in the lead by outscored the Wildcats 7-5 over the final two minutes.

Deaglan Sullivan and Vander Woude led the Ravens with 16 poise each while Brycen LaRue added 14 points. Aiden Sullivan finished with 9 points while Preston Reynolds added 8 points and 12 rebounds.
