KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The first Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Players of the Week were selected today, and Benedictine Women's Basketball swept both awards, presented by WinWon Technologies.
Riley Bruggeman was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Oen Deters was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Benedictine opened the season with a three-game week, going 2-1 with a split over the weekend at the Tabor College Classic.
Bruggeman set a new single-game program record with 15 free throws, while also scoring 35 points the Ravens 83-78 overtime win over Bethany (Kan.) on Friday. She also scored 23 points against Kansas Christian in the Ravens 112-31 season opener on Tuesday.
Deters finished the week with 12 steals and 12 rebounds. She also averaged 13.0 points per game over the Ravens three games with 16 assists.
Benedictine hosts its annual Holiday Inn Express Classic on Friday and Saturday as they take on (20) Briar Cliff University at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Southwestern Christian at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Prior to the game on Friday night, the program will recognize the 2025 Heart Women's Basketball Tournament Championship Team.
