No. 10 Benedictine Women's Lacrosse earned their seventh straight Heart of America Athletic Conference win on Saturday, earning a 22-1 win over Culver-Stockton College.
The Ravens opened with 4 straight goals as Kaylen Moore scored three of four with Chanterra Allen scoring the remaining goal. Culver-Stockton scored with 2:58 left in the first quarter which seemed to wake up Benedictine. The Ravens scored 17 straight at that point, reaching the 10-goal advantage to kick in the running clock mercy rule with 10:32 remaining in the second quarter when Elizabeth Pluta scored off an assist from Alexa Hiildenbrand.
Benedictine finished the game with a 44-4 advantage in shots with 35 shots on goal. Moore finished with 7 goals, followed by Allen with 6. Haylee Strough and Pluta finished with 4 goals each while Kiera Russell added the final goal. Hildenbrand and Allen shared the team lead with 3 assists each. Moore, Russell, and Pluta were joined by Christen Michaelides with 1 assist each.
Moore, who played in just her second game of the season, took every draw for the Ravens winning 14 of Benedictine's 22 draw controls. Russell finished with a game-high 9 groundballs while Strough finished with 8.
Benedictine steps out of Heart play for their next game traveling to St. Louis, Mo., to take on the University of Health Science and Pharmacy of St. Louis at 3:30 p.m. With Clarke University announcing earlier in the season the suspension of their women's lacrosse program, the Ravens win over Culver-Stockton is Benedictine's last home game until the regular-season finale on April 12 when they host (RV) St. Ambrose University.
