(10) Women's Lacrosse scores shutout over UHSP to move winning streak to four

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Benedictine Women's Lacrosse extended its winning streak to four as the No. 10-ranked Ravens earned a 24-0 win over the University of Health Science & Pharmacy of St. Louis on Tuesday.

Benedictine jumped out to a 9-0 lead after the first quarter and scored the 10th goal of the game, to kick in the running clock mercy rule just shy of three minutes into the second quarter when Chanterra Allen scored on an assist from Kiera Russell.

The Ravens finished the first quarter with a 21-1 advantage in shots with 13 shots on goal en route to a 43-5 advantage. 

By halftime, the Ravens lead stood at 15-0 before they added four more goals in the third quarter and 5 goals in the fourth as they finished two goals shy of their season-high of 26 and four shy of the program record of goals in a single game.

Kaylen Moore and Elizabeth Pluta led the Ravens with 6 goals each, and Allen was joined by Christen Michaelides with 4. Margaux Gelbach added 2 while Russell and Haylee Srough finished with 1 goal each. Moore led the Ravens with 3 assists, followed by Michaelides with 2. Russell was joined with 1 assist by Allen, Alexa Hildenbrand, and Emma Bailey.

Defensively, the Ravens finished with 13 caused turnovers on 24 total turnovers committed by UHSP. Moore led the way, finishing the game with 4 caused turnovers. She also led the team with 12 draw controls and 4 ground balls as Pluta added 3 ground balls.

Gianna Stalletti earned the win in goal for the Ravens, recording 2 saves over 60 minutes in goal. 

The Ravens will remain on the road for their next three games, returning to Heart play for their next two - April 3 at William Penn and April 6 at Missouri Valley. After taking on No. 6 Missouri Baptist University on April 10, they return home for their conference finale soon April 12 against (RV) St. Ambrose University.
