CANTON, Mo. – Women's Lacrosse clinched a share of the first-ever Heart Championship on Thursday with a 20-10 win over Culver-Stockton College.
The No. 8-ranked Ravens used an 8-goal second quarter to distance themselves from the Wildcats en route to the 10-goal win.
Benedictine finished with a 40-21 advantage in shots while finishing with 29 shots on goal. The Ravens jumped out to a 4-goal lead as Kaylen Moore scored twice followed by goals from Chantera Allen and Margaux Gelbach.
Moore and Allen led the Ravens in scoring with 6 goals each. Gelbach was joined by Kiera Russell with 3 goals while Claudia Garcia and Regan Engle scored a goal each. Grace Simonson led the Ravens with 6 assists, matching her season-high set during the 14-goal win over Clarke University on April 6.
Gianna Stalletti earned the win in goal, splitting time with Molly Owen. Stalletti finished with 4 saves while Owen added 2.
Moore led the Ravens with 16 draw controls and 4 groundballs. Sophia Juergensmyer finished with 2 caused turnovers as the Ravens finished with 7 total.
Benedictine wraps up the regular season on Saturday at Noon with William Penn University as they go for the outright Heart regular-season championship.
