(4) Women's Lacrosse sets new program record in shutout over University of St. Mary

It took five seconds for the No. 4-ranked Raven Women's Lacrosse team to net their first goal of the game on Saturday on Legacy Field.

When the clock struck zero on the second half, Benedictine had established a new program record for single-game scoring as they earned a 30-0 win over the University of St. Mary.

After the Ravens won the opening draw control, Clare Ryan got the scoring started for the Ravens off an assist from Molly Muehlebach. Rianna England pushed the Ravens lead to 10-0 with just over 23 minutes remaining in the first half when she scored off an assist from Erica Odell.

By halftime, the Ravens lead had moved to 17 goals with Benedictine holding a 31-1 advantage on shots.

Benedictine maintained control of the game through the second half. With just over seven minutes remaining, Odell scored an unassisted goal to break the Ravens team record for single-game scoring

Natalie Wechter and Grace Simonson led the Ravens in scoring with four goals each. Elizabeth Conley, Muehlebach, Tara Olinger and Ryan scored three goals each. Anne Marie Mannella, Odell, Megan Rossman, and England scored two goals each while Megan Ostrander and Brooke Rauber netted a goal for their first career goals as a Raven. Ryan led the team with seven assists, followed by Odell with six and Wechter with five. Muehlebach finished with two while Mannella and Rossman added one each.

Gianna Stalletti and Quincy Dolan combined for the shutout in goal with Stalletti earning the win as the first-half starter.

Benedictine finished with a 49-1 advantage in shots.

The Ravens return to KCAC play in a week with trips to KCAC newcomer Morningside University on Saturday and Midland University on Sunday.
