(2) Women's Lacrosse wins second KCAC game of the season over Clarke

The No. 2-ranked Raven Women's Lacrosse team continued their dominance of the early KCAC schedule on Thursday, holding Clarke University to just three shots en route to a 26-2 win over the Pride.

Benedictine (9-0, 2-0 KCAC) has now scored 46 goals in their first two KCAC games while holding their opponents to a combined three shots.

The Ravens got their scoring on the day going early with Mary McEnerney scoring the first of her game-high six seconds into the game off an assist from Molly Muehlebach. The goal ignited a scoring effort that saw the Ravens score 16 straight before the Pride netted their first goal of the game on a free-position goal inside the final five minutes of the half.

Benedictine led 16-1 at the half off 17 shots while holding Clarke to just two.

The scoring continued for the Ravens in the second half of play as Mary McEnerney scored the first goal fo the half off an assist from Kacey Moore. Benedictine went on to score four more before Clarke added their final goal that was followed by five more to wrap up the game.

Mary McEnerney and Natalie Wachter led the Ravens with six goals each. Aiden McEnerney added four while Anne Marie Manella scored four each. Moore, Emily Ruhland and Clare Ryan scored twice each with Megan Rossman scoring once. Ryan led the team with three assists with Wechter, Muehlebach and Moore finishing with two. Aiden McEnerney and Ruhland tallied one assist each to round out the Ravens offensive efforts.

Taryn St. Louis earned the win in goal while Benedictine held a 21-7 advantage on draw controls. Manella and Erin Rauber led the Ravens with three ground balls each while Wechter finished with 13 draw controls.

Benedictine hosts Midland University at 5 p.m. Wednesday as they continue KCAC play at the BC Athletic Complex.
