Men's Basketball uses 60-point second half to earn 30-point win over Haskell

BALDWIN CITY – After a slow start to their game, the No. 20-ranked Men's Basketball responded with a strong second half against Haskell Indian Nations University on Friday night in their one-game Baker Classic appearance.

Benedictine (2-1) outscored Haskell (1-5) by 28 points in the second half to earn a 96-66 win.

The Ravens trailed by as much as 12 points near the midpoint of the first half and then responded to outscore the Indians 24-10 over the remainder of the half to take a 36-34 lead into halftime.

Benedictine used a 14-4 run to start the second half and never looked back. Their largest lead of the game was 33 and came inside the final minute of play.

The Ravens connected on 70.6 percent from the floor in the second half to finished the game at 56.3 percent. They also converted on 9 of 11 from beyond the arc to finished the game with a total of 13-pointers.

Four Ravens finished in double figures, led by the game-high 21 points from Reshardd Harris. Anchored by Harris, Ricardo Erans and Grant Lahm, the Ravens finished with a 59-24 advantage off the bench. Thomas O'Connor finished with 14 while Kevin Metoyer and Erans added 11. Lahm capped off the scoring with 9 points.

Due to the announcement earlier in the week that St. Gregory's University is closing at the end of the semester, Saturday's game with the Cavaliers has been canceled as the school is ceasing athletic operations immediately.

The Ravens return home on Tuesday to host Haskell at 7 p.m. on Dugan Jones Court inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
