Trevor Strong enters his second season as Defensive Coordinator and Safeties Coach at Benedictine College following a highly successful first season leading one of the top defenses in the NAIA.
In 2025, Strong helped guide the Ravens to a 12-2 record, a Heart South Conference Championship, and a berth in the NAIA National Semifinals, finishing the season ranked No. 3 nationally. Under his leadership, Benedictine fielded the No. 1 scoring defense in the Heart South Conference, allowing just 16.8 points per game, while ranking No. 10 nationally in total defense and No. 2 in the NAIA in interceptions. The Ravens produced 12 All-Conference selections, including Heart South Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-American safety Isaiah Hasten.
For his efforts, Strong was named the 2025 Heart South Conference Defensive Assistant Coach of the Year. In 2026, he was selected to serve on the AFCA NAIA Assistant Coaches Committee.
Prior to Benedictine, Strong spent six seasons at Southwestern College, where he served as Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, and Defensive Backs Coach. During his tenure, Southwestern captured multiple conference championships and consistently fielded defenses ranked among the NAIA's best. His 2024 defense finished third nationally in total defense and led the country in interceptions. Strong coached 56 All-Conference selections and four All-Americans while helping the Builders establish themselves as one of the premier programs in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Before joining the Southwestern staff, Strong spent five seasons at William Penn University, serving as Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach. After beginning his coaching career as a graduate assistant, he earned a promotion to a full-time coaching position following his first season. During his time with the Statesmen, William Penn won the 2016 Heart North Conference Championship and developed one of the nation's top pass defenses, finishing among the NAIA's top five in pass defense during both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Strong helped build a consistent winner, contributing to four winning seasons in five years.
A native of Fremont, Nebraska, Strong graduated from Morningside University in 2014 with a degree in Business Administration. As a player, he was a two-time all-conference selection at safety, three-time conference champion, and a member of the 2012 NAIA National Runner-Up team.
Strong and his wife, Rachel, reside in Atchison with their two children, Nolan and Rylee.
