With an open weekend already on the schedule, Benedictine Baseball picked up a Sunday doubleheader on Laughlin Field at Olsen Stadium with No. 21 Doane University.
The Tigers opened the doubleheader with a 10-2 win before the Ravens earned the split with a 6-3 win in game two.
In the opener, the Ravens couldn't get to Tiger starter Gabe Rodriguez, who held the Ravens bats in check over 6 innings.Â
Parrish Beagle earned the start in the opener, going up 1 earned run over 4 innings with 6 strikeouts to suffer the loss.Â
Korey Messick finished the game with a 2-run home run while Carson Hintz added a doubles.
In game two, Nic Mozingo gave the Ravens 5 solid innings on the hill as Benedictine finished with 10 hits at the plate in support of Mozingo. He went 5 innings, giving up 1 earned run off 6 hits with 6 strikeouts to move to 3-1 on the year.
At the plate, Brice Martin went 3 for 3, missing the cycle the triple as he finished with a 3-run home run, a double, single and a walk. Elijah Reeves, Jackson Stone, and Matthew Johnson all finished with a double while Reeves and Stone were joined by Brylan Haas with an RBI.
Benedictine hit the road on Monday, taking on the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth at 2 p.m. in a single, 9-inning game before returning home on Thursday for a single, 9-inning game at 1 p.m. with Avila University.
