Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer loses to No. 20 Pioneers

Women's Soccer lost a home match to a ranked team Wednesday evening.
The Ravens fell, 3-1, to the No. 20 MidAmerica Nazarene University Pioneers.
The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead with 17 minutes left in the opening half after the Ravens were unable to fully clear a ball played into the 18-yard box.
The MNU lead doubled to 2-0 with just under 11 minutes before half. The Pioneers earned a corner kick and connected with a header inside the 6-yard box for the goal.
The Ravens were able to put 4 shots on goal in the first half but still trailed 2-0 at the break.
The Ravens were able to cut the Pioneers lead in half with 26:30 left to play in the match. Teya Bigknife played a corner in to Christine Znidarsic, who then played it back to Bigknife. She slipped a pass into the box and found Audrey Bolan who was able to score past the MNU keeper for the Ravens goal.
Unfortunately for the Ravens, the Pioneers had a quick answer as they scored 4 minutes later to push their lead back to 2 goals.
The Ravens continued to press, searching for more goals, but were unable to find any as the Pioneers secured the 3-1 win.
The Ravens actually out-shot the Pioneers, 10-6, with looks on goal. Madison Smith made 3 saves in goal for the Ravens.
The Ravens (5-3, 2-2 Heart) will take to the road for their next game, a 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 Heart matchup at Park University.
