The NAIA Football Championship Series returns to O'Malley Field at Larry Wilcox Stadium for the first time since 2022 as (5) Benedictine hosts (12) Campbellsville (Ky.) in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

While Benedictine is making its 17th appearance in the FCS, this is just the fifth appearance for Campbellsville, and the Tigers first since 2015.

Benedictine's 17 FCS qualifications are the fourth-most of the 20-team field. Carroll (25), Morningside (21) and Saint Francis (Ind.) (21) are ahead of Benedictine. Campbellsville's five FCS qualifications is tied for third-least in this year's field.

This is Benedictine's first home game in the current 20-team format (only in year two), but marks the program's fifth "opening round" home game since 2000 – they are 3-2. This is Benedictine's 10th FCS appearance since 2000.

Half of Saturday's games are first-time match ups – Benedictine-Campbellsville, Marian-Dordt, Lindsey Wilson-Indiana Wesleyan, and College of Idaho-Morningside are all firsts in the schools' all-time series.

About Benedictine: Benedictine's Jackson Dooley's 33 passing TDs are 4th-best in the NAIA. He's added 2,805 yards and was not sacked in a Heart game. For his career, Dooley now has 9,471 passing yards breaking the Heart's career passing record of 9,095 that was held by Baker's Logan Bretell (2014-17). ... Xavier Ugorgi has come on as a top rushing threat for Benedictine since taking over as the starter in the third game of the season. He has 13 touchdowns and is averaging 7.4 yards per carry over the Ravens 9-game winning streak. On the year, he is averaging 6.9 yards per carry. In 6 home games, that average moves to 7.0 per carry. ... Benedictine is 1-1 against opponents who qualified for the FCS this season – a win over (9) Morningside to open the season and their lone loss to (1) Grand View in Week 1. Since that loss to Grand View, Benedictine has scored 50 points or more in 7 times - reach over 70 points in wins over Peru State and William Woods.

About Campbellsville: Jett Engle is another top QB in the NAIA, throwing 27 touchdowns with 262 yards per game. Defensively, the Ravens have allowed an average of 117.2 yards rushing per game this season and 186.7 passing yards per game, They have allowed an average of 303.9 yards this season, ranking them 21st in the NAIA.After stops at Tiffin and Kentucky Christian, Engle has 2,619 yards this season in 10 games for the Tigers. ... Tre' Bass is averaging 108 yards per game this season with 11 touchdowns for Campbellsville. His 8.6 yards per carry average ranks third overall in the NAIA this season. In 5 road games, his yards per carry average sits at 8.7. He averaged 9.7 yards per carry over his 3 games so far in November. ... Campbellsville only has two losses on the season by a total of 4 points, both of them did come on the road – Oct. 25 at (RV) Cumberland (TN) 35-33, and Nov. 15 at (20) Georgetown, 34-32. The Tigers two wins over ranked opponents were also close, winning by a combined 6 points.
