Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Volleyball splits road matches with William Penn and (19) Grand View

Benedictine Volleyball hit the road for a pair of Heart matches on Friday and Saturday against William Penn and (19) Grand View University.

The Ravens earned a pair of 5-set splits, beating William Penn 3-2 on Friday before falling to Grand View 3-2 on Saturday.

Benedictine hit .199, that included a .480 in the fifth set as they finished the match with William Penn with 64 total kills. 

The Ravens finished with three players in double figures on the attack, led by Barbara Terra with 20. Bridget O'Sullivan added 14 while JoJo Vander Woude added 12. Wren VanCleave anchored the attack with 58 assists.

Defensively, VanCleave finished with 18 digs, followed by Lainee Mustain and Kelly DeMeulenaere with 15 each. Rayleen Gladden finished with 3 block assists while Terra and Lucy Drexel added 2 block assists each. 

Against the NAIA-ranked Vikings on Saturday, the Ravens dropped the final two sets 25-13, 15-10 after earning a 33-31 win in the third set.

Benedictine finished the match with a .144 attack percentage and a total of 55 kills. VanCleave anchored the attack with 49 assists and two Ravens finished in double figures in kills.

Terra led the Ravens again, finishing with 19 kills while Drexel added 13.

Defensively, DeMeulenaere led the Ravens with 26 digs while Cibeles Bothwell added 10. Vander Woude and O'Sullivan led the front row with 2 block assists while Terra added a solo block.

Benedictine returns home for a match on Tuesday with MNU before hosting Graceland on Saturday for Senior Day.
