CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Benedictine Men's Soccer snapped a five-match losing streak on Saturday afternoon, playing to a 1-1 draw against Mount Mercy University.
Both goals came during the first half of play as it too Benedictine 5:28 to net their first goal. Andrewss Felipe Angulo scored off an assist from Nima Samadian to give Benedictine the early lead.
Mount Mercy answered during the 18th minute and that was all the scoring either team could manage.
Benedictine held a 9-7 advantage in shots as both teams finished with 4 shots on goal each.
Hernan Burdiles earned the win in goal, finishing the match with 3 saves while allowing the lone goal.
Benedictine returns home on Saturday, hosting Clarke University at 2:30 p.m. on Legacy Field.
