Women's Basketball picked up a blowout home win Wednesday night.
The (RV) Ravens defeated the Peru State Bobcats 76-51.
A dominant second-quarter performance, at both ends of the court, put the Ravens in control of the game and sent them into halftime with a 17-point lead. The Ravens trailed by 5 at one point in the opening quarter but were able to take a 21-19 lead after 10 minutes despite the Bobcats shooting 7-of-11 from the field.
However, the Ravens limited Peru State to 3-16 shooting in the second quarter and just 7 points. On the offensive end, Josie Weishaar and Jennifer Jacobs got the Ravens going, combining to score 26 of the team's first 32 points. Their teammates found their stride in the second quarter as well as the Ravens finished the half shooting 50% from the field and holding a 43-26 lead.
The third quarter was back-and-forth between the squads, but the Ravens closed out the big win with a 20-11 fourth quarter advantage to earn the 25-point victory. The Ravens closed out the game shooting 43% from the field while holding the Bobcats to 35% from the floor.
Both Weishaar and Jacobs set season-highs in points as Weishaar scored 23 and Jacobs finished with 19. Weishaar also set a career high with 13 rebounds to go along with 6 assists and 2 blocks.
Lauryn Dubbert scored 8 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Riley Rottinghaus chipped in 7 points, 4 blocks and 3 boards.
Next up for the Ravens (13-3, 10-2 Heart) is a noon, Saturday, Jan. 18 contest at Clarke University.
