Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball hits century mark in win over Clarke

Women's Basketball put together a strong offensive performance to move to 5-0 Saturday at home.

The (RV) Ravens defeated the Clarke University Pride, 100-70, on the strength of a dominant first half. It's the second-straight game the Ravens have scored more than 90 points, and the first time the Ravens have hit the century mark since a Jan. 27, 2024 game at William Penn University.

The Ravens had their A-game on the offensive end in the opening half, shooting 48.7% from the floor and 36.8% from 3-point range on their way to 58 points in the first 20 minutes. Josie Weishaar led the way with 17 points, most of which came on five 3-pointers.

The Ravens also took advantage of what the Pride gave them, converting 13-of-14 from the free throw line. In the first half, the Ravens outscored the Pride 16-6 in the paint and 10-0 on second-chance points, outrebounding Clarke 25-14.

The Pride entered the game giving up just 57.3 points per game but the Ravens eclipsed that in the opening half on their way to handing the Pride their first loss of the season (4-1).

The second half started a little slower for each team as the Ravens scored just 13 points in the third quarter, but the shooting picked back up in the fourth quarter. Back-to-back 3-pointers late in the game by Hattie Gros and Shae Lewis pushed the Ravens to 100 points just three days after scoring 98 against Central Methodist University.

Weishaar had a great performance as she finished with a team-high 20 points and six 3-pointers – both of which are season highs for the senior.

Jennifer Jacobs added 16 points, Lauryn Dubbert scored 12 points and 7 rebounds, and Carmen Morales and Nicole Storck added 12 and 10 points, respectively, off the bench for the Ravens.

The Ravens finished the game with 38 points in the paint and 18 coming on second-chance opportunities. They outrebounded the Pride 51-30 and dished out 28 assists on their 34 field goals.

The Ravens (5-0, 3-0 Heart) will host Graceland University at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26.
