(8) Women's Lacrosse advances to Heart Championship Game with win over Culver-Stockton

Women's Lacrosse earned their 18 conference tournament win in program history on Wednesday night, beating Culver-Stockton in the Semifinals of the Heart Women's Lacrosse Championship.

(8) Benedictine, the championship's top seed, scored 12 straight after the four-seeded Wildcats scored their first goal of the game en route to a 20-3 win.

The Ravens opened the game with two straight goals from Kaylen Moore off assists from Grace Simonson and Courtney Frankfurth. The Wildcats' first goal of the game came from Raina Richard with just under 11 minutes remaining in the first quarter. Benedictine answered that goal with an offensive run that extended through halftime into the final five minutes of the third quarter. 

Frankfurth and Chanterra Allen scored the first two goals of the second quarter with the goal from Allen putting the Ravens ahead 11-1.

The Ravens outshot the Wildcats 31-10 with 25 shots on goal. Frankfurth led the Ravens with 7 goals and 1 assist. Allen added 6 goals and 1 assist while Moore scored 5 goals with 2 assists. Margaux Gelbach and Sophia Haeuser scored one goal each while Simonson finished with 3 assists.

Gianna Stalletti and Molly Owen split the game in goal with Stalletti playing the first half and earning the win. She finished the game with 4 saves while Owen added 2.

Benedictine won 21 of 26 draw controls, led by Moore with 11. Kiera Russell recorded 4 draw controls, followed by Claudia Garcia with 3, Gelbach with 2, and Solei Geist with 1. 

With the win, the Ravens improve to 9-3 overall and 18-2 in conference tournament games. They await the winner of the other Semifinal game between No. 2 seed St. Ambrose University and No. 3 seed William Penn University on Saturday on Legacy Field.
