Women's Soccer lost its regular season finale in a close contest Saturday afternoon.
The No. 24 Ravens lost 2-1 to the No. 20 Missouri Valley College Vikings in Atchison.
The Vikings struck first in just the 4th minute of the match, taking a 1-0 lead that they held into halftime.
Missouri Valley doubled their lead in the 57th minute with a nicely-placed shot into the upper-left corner of the net, going up 2-0.
The Ravens continued to fight, though. In the 68th minute, Annie Hoog passed forward to Sam Mausbach who dribbled through several Vikings defenders and then beat the MVC keeper to the right side of the goal. The quality play cut the deficit in half.
The Ravens continued to press forward but were unable to find an equalizer. The Vikings outshot the Ravens 11-8 and 7-5 in shots on goal. Mackenzie Korzenecki made 5 saves in goal for the Ravens.
