Women's Lacrosse opened up conference play with a win Saturday.
The Ravens defeated the Midland Warriors 24-1 at home to move to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in KCAC play.
The Ravens took control of the game early, leading 7-0 after one quarter of play, and then activating the running clock by going up by 10 goals early in the second quarter. By halftime, the Ravens held a 14-0 lead. Erica Odell had the highlight of the first half, scoring a beautiful no-look goal with her back to the net.
The No. 6 Ravens added 10 more goals in the second half to earn the blowout win. Leading the Ravens in goals were Natalie Wechter and Aidan McEnerney, who each had 5 goals. Odell scored 4 goals, and Clare Ryan and Elizabeth Conley each scored 3 goals. Ryan had 6 assists to lead the Ravens, while Grace Simonson dished out 5 assists.
Gianna Stalletti was perfect in goal, not allowing a goal in 35 minutes of action while picking up 4 saves. Quincy Dolan had 3 saves in 25 minutes of play.
The Ravens will hit the road for their next six games, starting with another KCAC game at Saint Mary on Wednesday, March 2, and a swing through Georgia for three games during Spring Break. They'll return home Friday, March 25 against St. Ambrose.
