DUBUQUE, Iowa – Raven Women's Soccer overcame an early goal scored by Clarke University on Saturday to earn a convincing 5-1 win over the home-standing Pride.
Clarke scored during the 6th minute of play before Benedictine answered on a goal from Gracie Eckardt off an assist from Annabelle Hoog during the 11th minute. From there, it was all Benedictine as the Ravens scored during the 16th and 39th minutes to take a 3-1 lead into halftime before adding on two second-half goals.
Kourtney Koc scored the game-winning goal off a double assist from Madeline Stewart and Rachel Beffa during the 16th minute and Madalynn Gill scored off an assist from Koc during the 39th minute to give the Ravens the two-goal halftime lead.
Koc added her second goal of the match during the 53rd minute and Beffa capped off the scoring during the 57th minute.
Olivia Berry rebounded from the early goal to earn the win. Berry played into the 82nd minute in goal while tallying seven saves before giving way to Caroline Gyllenborg.
Benedictine finished with a 22-10 advantage in shots while finished with 14 shots on goal.
The Ravens remain on the road Wednesday, traveling to Fayette, Mo., for an NAIA Top 25 showdown with the Central Methodist University Eagles.
