Bench scoring sparks (RV) Women's Basketball in road win over Peru State

PERU, Neb. – The (RV) Raven Women's Basketball team got a lift on their bench on Wednesday night as they took on the Peru State College Bobcats in Heart cross-division play.

Benedictine (14-6; 12-4 Heart) got 46 points from their bench en route to a 71-64 win over Peru State.

Peru State led after the first 10 minutes of play before Benedictine answered to outscore them 33-25 over the second and third quarters. The Ravens held a 47-40 lead with 10 minutes remaining which proved to be the difference as they secured the road win over the Bobcats.

Benedictine was 2 of 7 from the free throw line through three quarters and went 9 of 10 in the fourth quarter to keep the Bobcats at arm's length. Peru State limited Benedictine to just seven fourth-quarter field goals while shooting 64.3 percent to try and overcome their slow middle half of the game.

Four Ravens finished the game in double figures, led by Aaliyah Raines with 14 points. Sam Brennan and Heather Ronnebaum scored 11 points each to help anchor the Ravens bench-scoring effort while Alleigh Kramer finished with 10 points as the lone starter to reach double figures.

Benedictine remains on the road Saturday, traveling to their final schedule road game of the regular season. The Ravens take on (8) Clarke University at Noon on Saturday in Dubuque, Iowa, before wrapping up the regular season with two straight at home next week.
