FREMONT, Neb. – After a 24-day layoff, the (RV) Raven Women's Lacrosse team returned to the field on Tuesday as they took on Midland University.
The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but blizzard conditions pushed it to Sunday before poor road conditions for a second postponement to Tuesday where the Ravens earned a 18-7 win over the Warriors.
Benedictine (8-1, 5-0 KCAC) outshot Midland (4-6, 2-4 KCAC) 35-15 en route to the win to remain undefeated in KCAC play.
The Ravens took a 7-4 lead into halftime and then exploded for 11 goals in the second half en route to the 11-goal win.
Mary McEnerney led the Ravens with four goals. Molly Muehlebach and Lizzie Darrow scored three goals each followed by Anne Marie Manella, Kacey Moore and Emily Ruhland with two goals each. Clare Hanson and Antonia Nelson added one goal each to round out the Raven scoring effort. Ruhland led the Ravens with three assists, Moore added two while McEnerney, Chiara Petruccelli and Hanson added one assist each.
Teresa Petruccelli went the distance in goal for the Ravens. She recorded two saves over 60 minutes in goal as the Raven defense limited the Warriors to just nine shots on goal.
The Ravens remain on the road Wednesday, traveling to Marshall, Mo., against Missouri Valley College at 4 p.m. before returning home on Thursday for a 5 p.m. game against Ave Maria University
